Priory of Saint-Sulpice de Marignac
Prieuré Saint-Sulpice de Marignac / Marignacus
(Marignac, Charente-Maritime)
The Romanesque church of Saint-Sulpice de Marignac belonged to a priory that the Abbey of Saint-Sauveur de Charroux (Vienna) had on the same site. A remarkable medieval church has survived, having been renovated several times since the Hundred Years' War. It is a single-nave church with a sanctuary with three apses arranged in a trefoil shape. It retains interesting sculptural decoration, both exterior and interior.
