Commandery of L'Argentière
Commanderie de L'Argentière / Chapelle Saint-Jean / Sancti Johannis de Gradibus Karoli

The church of Saint-Jean de L'Argentière is a remarkable Romanesque building linked to the Hospitaller commandery of the same name, also known as Saint-Jean de Gradibus (Gradibus Karuli), which has been mentioned since the 13th century. At the beginning of the following century, there is evidence of a hospital in this location to serve travelers. In 1314, this commandery was merged with that of Embrun.
