In 1362, the convent of Sant Agustí in Cervera was founded and financially endowed by its promoter, the merchant Ramon Serra. It was located on Carrer Major, an area that today is central but was relatively unpopulated at the time. In 1473, a provincial chapter was held at the convent. It remained active until the exclaustration of 1835. Due to its poor condition, the church was demolished at the end of the 19th century and replaced by a new neo-Gothic building.
